Ordered the spicy chicken sandwich without ranch and bacon..some crinkle cut fries. And dog food.
The spice on chicken sandwich is unique and the only concern is the coloring agent being put in the spices, which makes it appearance reddish.
The crinkle cut fries were good though and are not too oily.
I am gonna lay this out for all of you as much sense of it I can make as I can. Whoever started this company is genius. They formed a brand that almost made it to be top notch but honestly they haven’t made it all of the way. They failed to create their own version and critique of how they do business and I mean perhaps maybe they could curtail their customer service in a way so different then all of these other burger places who are competing? They almost stand out but don’t stand out in a way that makes them 5 stars. Granted they are great and honestly it will take time for people to start getting to know their brand and I hope they tune their brand in a direction that by far surpasses any other burger joint because they are amazing. None the less there is a story to the food and to me they have a 4.5 star review. I am gonna give them 5 stars anyway.
Convenient ordering through touch pad and burgers came quickly after and tasted good. Fries were good and they had lactose free shake which helped since one of us have milk intolerance. Right across from Powell Books downtown.
This place is pretty nice for a quick stop for a burger and fries and a few other fixings. If you are vegan, however, there is only one menu option that is customizable to be vegan and that is the veggie burger. The portobello mushroom burger is stuffed with cheese. The fries are amazing, the allergens in each of the foods are listed and there's an option to make the cooks aware of any traditional allergies that you may have from the kiosk in front of the restaurant. You can also order from a person. They have ketchup and paper towels for you to grab if you need them. The restrooms are pretty nice, but you will need a code to get in. Overall, Not bad. Not bad at all.
The kiwi apple lemonade was amazing 🤩. I got the special spicy burger of the month, which has pepper and an onion crunch topping. Great combo for a light lunch.
The large patio is great for groups. Plus tons of shade if you don't want to be out in the sun. This felt like one of the largest locations I've been to.
The only issue with ordering was you needed to ask for your table number before using the self-service machines. That part is not clear when you walk up to use the self service machines.
Went on grand opening day. It was not to bad at all lines were very minimal. Order was easy with the digital option. Or you could order in person. Which made it very convenient. Prices were not bad at all very affordable for an upscale burger place. The burgers are very good. Great flavor. And smash burger style patties. The fries were also fresh and very good. You can get them plain or with cheese and bacon if you want. Great burger spot. If you want good quality burgers this is the place to go.
Came during Saturday lunch and were able to place an order in under 5 minutes despite the line. Food came out in about 10 minutes. Plenty of seating even with the crowd, it's a big place! Food is exactly what you expect from Shake Shack and was fresh when we got it. Every member of staff was upbeat and happy to help.
I took a star off because of the jumbo jenga. It was piercingly loud every time a block fell and seriously sucked. Really should not have these inside on this type of floor.

Our Shake Shack journey began with a visit to NYC in the fall 2021. On one of our first days there we tried Shake Shack for lunch and were impressed by the flavors, the customer service and the cleanliness of the establishment. As much as we enjoyed the experience we returned to Portland knowing this brush with excellence that we encountered on vacation would never be replicated in our hometown unless we were to venture to Beaverton...yikes to that!
Thankfully the burger overlords listened to our hungry cries of peril and rewarded us with this new location on West Burnside. And I can not be anymore grateful. Not only has our NYC experience been replicated time after time again but has even more so created an insatiable desire to visit this place for dinner as much as we can.
It begins with a big team of diligent workers that look after you even after the meal has been consumed. They're kind and have an aurora of humbleness to them which is unfathomable considering the excellence they serve on tray after tray.
The burgers are phenomenal, the fries are perfectly seasoned and the cheese fries have that oooey gooey exterior that makes me whimper with each bite. The shakes have a robust natural flavor to them even if you get a good ol' plain vanilla like myself.
All in all every time we visit there is just this sense of happiness that glows over this place that teleports me to a world where infinite joy and hope are preserved. Thank you Shake Shack for rewriting my sense of reality. I can not recommend this place more.
